This is an exciting title for my first post.
I am proud of being an agricultural NERD, but I did not know this kind of “Arabian Yam”…I’m extremely embarrassed…
It is a kind of Japanese yam , and it originated in Kochi Prefecture although it is called “Arabian”.
As the reasoning of the name and/or the parent variety does not appear even if I google it, I will do my homework as agricultural NERD.
The “Gojoho Arabian Yam” is a new type of Arabian Yam grown in the great nature of Gojoho, which is in Ono City, Fukui Prefecture, Japan.
The color and taste are much different from the traditional ones grown in Kochi prefecture.
This is the location of the Gojoho area.
While it is as sticky as Japanese yam, it is not as peculiar taste. And its color is white and has a mild taste similar to Chinese yam.
I recommend eating it simply grated, but I only left a photo with the fried eggplant by mistake…
Here’s a photo of the blogger disqualified.
It is a “phantom” Arabian yam that is difficult to control the temperature and then, it is hard to be found in distribution.
If you want to try this kind of phantom yam, or if you’re a business that wants to try it at a restaurant, please contact here.
